Sweating to feel good vs. sweating to lose weight

“Create the strongest version of yourself.” This is [solidcore]’s mission statement and the main reason why I love working for this company. We are all about building a community where everyone who walks in feels welcomed, included, and motivated to push themselves past their limits. It’s a safe place where you can express yourself fully and take on a challenge that strengthens your mind, body, and spirit. Every time I walk into a [solidcore] studio, no matter where it is, it feels like the best gift I could give myself all day. It’s about a feeling and it always feels so good.

Sweating is my favorite part of the day — it’s no longer an obligation.

The main flaw I see in the fitness industry is that the focus is making yourself look good. It’s about losing weight or getting bigger. Photoshopped models are the face of our fitness magazines. Crash diets on “how to lose weight in 10 days” are constantly in our faces. These messages teach us that we’re not enough as we are and we always will need to do something more to accept ourselves. We will never be happy living this way. It’s not inspiring, it’s not motivating, and it certainly does not feel good.

A lot of people struggle with staying active. We’re all busy and the first thing that falls away when we’re stressed is exercise. If this is who you are, take a look at why. Are you going to the gym because you feel good about it, or because you think you have to?

Up until two years ago, my main goal in life was to lose weight. This drove everything I did. I would avoid hanging out with my closest friends because I was scared that we would go out to eat. I would spend hours on the elliptical watching the calorie count go up until I burned off everything I ate. It was lonely, it was painful, and it was destructive. I was never satisfied. My mind and body were constantly at war with each other and I was desperate to get free.

And now, I’m so satisfied with who I am. I love my mind, my body, and my spirit. I’m so excited to wake up every morning. Sweating is my favorite part of the day — it’s no longer an obligation. The only thing that had to shift to get here was my mentality.

Let go of the feeling that you’re not enough and find a way to sweat that makes you feel good. We’re hardwired to seek pleasure, so choose something you love that excites you. Forget about working out to looking good — you are enough as you are.

I need to loose weight and have knee problems. I have not worked out in a very long time but want to start getting seious but want to see results. As a beginner do you think solidcore can be a good option?
